I have something of an unhealthy man-crush on Tom Hanks. Every time one of his movies comes on TNT I have to drop what I'm doing and watch – even if I have seen Castaway a good 20 times.
I think he had me hooked with That Thing You Do, and I even (secretly) liked his last musical-turned-to-film Momma Mia! So I guess it stands to reason that I'll probably be a fan of his latest endeavor of making Green Day's American Idot musical into a movie, even if my former 18-year-old punk rock self just called me a sell-out.
In other rock and roll movie making news, Paste Magazine is reporting that David Miller is working on a new Daniel Johnston biopic that “It’s going to be an epic super hero story and it’s going to be a narrative biopic, so it doesn’t really cover any of the same stuff that the famous Devil And Daniel Johnston documentary that won Sundance in 2005 covers,” according to the filmmaker.
