The Dollyrots

If Joan Jett likes them, then we like 'em too. The Dollyrots formed in 2000 when long-time friends Kelly Ogden and Luis Cabezas followed in the footsteps of many and made their way to Los Angeles to start a band. Fortunately they managed to avoid the typical fate of musicians heading out west and instead have since been releasing records and touring across the US, bringing their poppy/punky sound to the masses.

Along the way they've released two full-lengths, Eat My Heart Out in 2004 on Lookout!/Panic Button and their 2007 follow-up Because I'm Awesome on Joan Jett's Blackheart Records (whom they met on the 2006 Warped Tour). The title song off their Because I'm Awesome CD has been featured on the show Ugly Betty and their music has also been on The Simple Life and CSI NY. Little Stevie even dubbed the song "coolest song of 2007" on his Sirius Satellite radio show.

The Dollyrots, are currently working on a new album with Chris Testa (Jimmy Eat World, Motion City Soundtrack) at The Greenhouse in LA. The new record is due out on Blackheart this coming winter.
